Man takes plea in 2017 Boynton homicide, murder charges dropped.

Murder charges were dropped against a man arrested in connection to the 2017 fatal shooting of a woman in Boynton Beach after he took a plea deal this week, according to court documents.
In exchange, he must testify against any others potentially involved in Curtisia Courtney Smith’s death, according to the conditions of the plea. But since the 26-year-old’s death, only one other man was arrested and the charges were almost immediately dropped against him.

Minutes after Curtisia Courtney Smith was fatally shot outside a Boynton Beach convenience store, Jervaughn Ewell broke into her home about two blocks away and stole thousands of dollars worth of clothing and electronics, according to 2017 police records and Smith’s mother.
